A tool to help us measure consequence,
It’s a knowledge greater than score and size,
Moving beyond what we can quantify.
It’s a guiding light and harbinger too,

As we grow and learn it can begin,
Our glimpse into our journey within.
Wisdom is a treasure that can’t be spent,
A lifetime’s worth of thoughts and events,
It imparts a certain type of sight,
An insightful way of dealing with life.
It’s a spark of knowing to light our way,
To use when we find ourselves astray,
It’s a guiding path and gentle hand,
Taking us to places in this land.
A light of awareness held inside,
